Kings, princes, princesses and champions

King Juan Carlos has been watching Real Madrid take on Bayern Munich in the second semi-final of the Champtions' League to be played in the Spanish capital in less than twenty four hours.  Just yesterday, the Prince and Princess of Asturias watched Atletico Madrid draw nil-nil with Chelsea and now the King of Spain has lent his support to the other Spanish team in the contest.  It's a right royal show of support for football.

If both the teams from Madrid get through their two leg ties, it will be the first all Spanish Champions' League for over a decade.  No doubt if both teams make it to to Lisbon on May 24th, there will be a strong Spanish royal representation at the final.  And with the national team defending the World Cup in Brazil not long afterwards, it looks like it might be a long summer of football for the King Juan Carlos and his family.
