The State Visit by the King and Queen of Spain is under way. King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain have been given an official welcome and enjoyed a carriage ride along the Mall and now it's time for lunch. While they enjoy a rather lovely looking salad made using equipment from the time of Queen Victoria (more on that later), here's a first look at some of the first images of this first State Visit from Spain in 31 years.
The King and Queen of Spain were met at their hotel by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. After lots of laughs, they headed out into the sunshine and towards Horse Guards Parade for the official welcome.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh led the official welcome with Prince Philip accompanying King Felipe as they inspected a Guard of Honour.
A carriage ride along the Mall brought the Queen and King Felipe and the Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Letizia to Buckingham Palace where they are enjoying lunch.
And that's where Queen Victoria comes in. The food being served at the Palace was prepared using pots and pans from her reign, as shown on the Royal Family Instagram account. Keep checking back, lots more photos to come from #SpainStateVisit.
