Spanish State Visit: the glittering Guildhall Gala

If the early part of day two of the Spanish State Visit was all about King Felipe then Queen Letizia took over for the evening. The couple attended a gala dinner at the Guildhall in London in their honour and the Queen of Spain was definitely the star of the show. Here's the second gala event of the Spanish State Visit, in pictures...

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia arrived in the City of London in the early evening for the celebration. The Lord and Lady Mayor of London are their hosts for the evening with the Princess Royal and her husband. Timothy Laurence, accompanying them.

There was a guard of honour to inspect for King Felipe but that was where his leading role came to an end. Queen Letizia, in midnight blue with killer earrings and her floral tiara, was definitely the star of the show tonight.

King Felipe gave another speech, after a chatty day that had seen him talk at the UK-Spanish Business Forum and hold discussions with Prime Minister, Theresa May, at Ten Downing Street. The King and Queen of Spain were all smiles as day two of their State Visit came to an end - no wonder, it's been a success all round.
