The Duchess of Cambridge has been in labour for around four hours now and Kensington Palace have confirmed that things are 'progressing normally' for Kate who was taken to hospital around 6am.

Baby on the way - Kate and William will meet their new son or daughter very soon indeed

The Duchess was driven to the St Mary's in Paddington early this morning with her husband at her side. At the time Kensington Palace said she was 'in the early stages of labour'.

The family knows and is waiting as Kate begins her labour with baby number two

The Queen and other members of the Royal Family have been informed and will be the first to hear the news - the official announcement will only be made once senior Royals have been informed.

And then there were four - George is about to become a big brother

The baby is the second child for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, a second grandchild for The Prince of Wales and a fifth great grandchild for The Queen. They will be fourth in line to the throne from the moment of their birth.
