Charlene, champion of chic

Princess Charlene in the red dress that topped the Royal Wardrobe poll this week

Princess Charlene does look good in red and that was proved this week as her gala gown for the Grand Prix reception in Monaco hit top spot in the Royal Wardrobe poll.

With its statement sleeves, cape effect top and split its totally on trend and right at the top of the tree, winning over 50% of the votes cast.

Crown Princess Mary's black and white print summer dress was second on the list, taking 25% of all the votes cast. The two styles might be very different but they were both popular in this poll.

Princess Marie of Denmark's white and black coat combo came in a very distant third in this poll.

Surprisingly, joint bottom of the poll were two royal fashion icons. Queen Rania of Jordan's red and black print dress with on trend jacket wasn't that popular at all.

It ended up level pegging with Queen Letizia's take on eighties fashion - this Dynasty-esque black and white suit which gets more Joan Collins with every look. Better luck next time.
