The Royal Wardrobe: 5 fab fashion moments

Charlene wows in red at the reception for the Monaco Grand Prix this week

The Royal Wardrobe this week is so on trend, it hurts. There have been a lot of casual clothes around but when the royals have gone smart and chic they've hit so many style buttons it's hard to keep up. Five moments of elegance and then some, here's this week's Royal Wardrobe.  And as always there is a poll on the main page.

If you didn't know that capes and drapes were in fashion right now then the Royal Wardrobe of the last few weeks would have got the message across. Just about everyone is trying out this trend and Princess Charlene's effort was up there with the best of them. The red dress she chose for the reception marking the Monaco Grand Prix ticked all the fashion boxes and looked stunning to boot. An absolute winner.

There was a lot of black and white around this week but then monochrome is having another moment in the fashion spotlight. Queen Letizia of Spain couldn't get enough of it and chose two outfits in this trend this week but the best was this suit which not only did the monochrome thing, it added a bit of 80s for good measure. OK, it's almost bordering on the best of Dynasty but Letizia makes it work. Fashion fabulousness.

There was a bit of 1980s styling going on from Queen Rania in the week as well as she chose this jacket and dress combo for a graduation ceremony. What's not to love about the fitted red dress, the eye wowing pattern and the neat little jacket with all that detailing on top. Cracking.

Princess Marie of Denmark chose a winner of a white coat with black detailing as she helped mark UN Peacekeepers Day in Copenhagen. This elegant outfit was on trend and totally fitted to the occasion and Marie looked marvellous in it

Crown Princess Mary also went monochrome with a pretty print dress that just said summer. It's quite understated but its simplicity makes it super chic. Mary had a great May and she's starting another great month of fashion with this dream of a dress.
