May's royal fashion hits

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark in one of this month's favourite outfits

Four weeks, four polls, four winners. The top royal outfits of May have been decided and here's a round up for the royal wardrobe moments that made most people smile. The four poll winners are all here - but which is the best of the lot? It would be great to hear what you think in the comments section at the bottom of the page. In the meantime, here's a quartet of stand out style from May 2016.

The middle of the month saw Crown Princess Mary top the weekly poll when she wore this black H&M evening dress previously chosen by Crown Princess Victoria and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. We know the Scandinavian royals are close but this close?

The first winner of the month had been bang on trend but then we'd expect nothing less from style setter, Queen Letizia. Her navy dress, chosen for an awards ceremony, had draping with a hint of caping and the statement sleeves everyone now wants. Oh, and fabulous shoes. Enjoy.

Princess Madeleine did the statement sleeves thing as well when she attended the christening of her nephew and godson, Prince Oscar, in a pale pink dress that added the only light look to this month's run down of stellar looks. The pale pink piece is a masterclass in elegance - no surprises it topped that poll and with strong competition.

More dark colours from Queen Maxima of the Netherlands in her poll topping dress from the second half of the month. There's a Sixties vibe about this basketweave dress with huge hat and that's before we get to the wonder that is that necklace. Another stunning style statement.
