That's what you call a bauble - the Christmas Tree decorations at Buckingham Palace for 2016

They're trimming the tree at Buckingham Palace. And if Christopher Robin went there with Alice right now, he'd be pretty impressed. For the festive display this year is a right royal treat and it's finished with a crown. When you're the longest reigning monarch in British history, what else do you put on your tree?
The photos of the tree, well, trees actually (this is Buckingham Palace, one would look too lonesome on that huge staircase) were shared on the Royal Family twitter feed on Christmas Tree Day, December 8th, which now appears to be an actual thing.
The Queen is clearly in the festive mood because there are baubles on the bannisters as well. Presumably, the regal Santa Stop Here sign for George and Charlotte is in the private rooms.
This isn't the most famous Christmas tree of the House of Windsor this year after Prince Harry, several days after the now annual Christmas Tree Day event, was reportedly spotted buying one with girlfriend, Meghan Markle and causing what appears to be an international sensation. Whether that's because he missed Christmas Tree Day or whether it's because he bought a tree while talking to his girlfriend remains unclear. It's also unlikely we'll ever see said tree or any romantic heart shaped baubles decking its branches. Never mind. The right royal treat of a tree at Buckingham Palace is more than enough to get the regal festive spirit going. Ho, ho. ho.
