Some birthdays are big because of the number and some are big because of what they symbolise. Princess Ingrid Alexandra has just hit a very significant milestone. The second in line to the Norwegian throne turns 13 today - this queen in waiting is now a teenager.
Her family is celebrating with some photos taken in December which show a young princess growing up fast. Ingrid Alexandra was born on January 21st 2004 in Oslo, the first child of Crown Prince Haakon's marriage to Crown Princess Mette-Marit. She's grown up alongside her big brother, Marius, and little brother, Sverre, and, as second in line to the throne from birth, she's starting to take on more responsibilities. She's carried out engagements with her parents and grandparents as she prepares for a royal role of her own in adulthood. It's one step closer to that today for Ingrid Alexandra, the queen in waiting who is now a teenager.
