Mary's silver success

The first Royal Wardrobe poll of 2017 had a clear winner. Crown Princess Mary shimmered her way into the New Year in silver and went straight to the top of the class while she was at it. Here's your first Royal Wardrobe winner of the year.

The gown, worn before but with a different top, was chosen for the second of the New Year Levees in Copenhagen last week. Gala number two is non tiara so this dress got to sparkle all by itself and it more than lived up to the expectation.

It's designed by Julie Fagerholt and without the jacket style top it had before, it got a new lease of life that saw it take two thirds of the vote for the favourite outfit of the week.  Princess Marie's New Year's Day gown was second with Mary in third with her third outfit of 2017.

So Mary opens the Royal Wardrobe and this year you can keep track of all the poll winners on a special page where the style of 2017, as chosen by this blog's readers, will unfold. Happy New Year.
