A big wedding anniversary for Mary and Frederik

Mary knows how to rock a jumper. As the Crown Princess of Denmark and her family appear on new stamps issued in Greenland to mark a wedding anniversary, Mary shows that national dress has a style of its own. Along with her husband and four children, she has posed for photos by Steen Brogaard for the new stamp wearing traditional Greenlandic outfits. And it suits this royal family down to the ground.

The stamp was revealed today by the Danish Royal House which said it's to mark the copper anniversary of the Crown Prince and Princess of Denmark who married in Copenhagen on May 14th 2004.  In Denmark, the first major wedding anniversary celebration is twelve and a half years - midway to the big 25 year anniversary to come.  The fact that the Crown Prince and Princess have chosen to mark it with a Greenlandic stamp shows their affiliation with this part of their community - the couple took their children there last year on a big visit. Their two princes and princesses star in the stamp and the accompanying photos released at the same time but it's the happy couple, and especially a Crown Princess in a jumper, who steal the show. Happy Anniversary!
