Princess Alexia leaves hospital

Princess Alexia has left hospital, three days after undergoing an operation for a broken leg. The princess, who is ten, suffered an accident while on a family ski-ing holiday in Lech and was flown to hospital on Saturday where she underwent surgery. Late this afternoon, the Dutch Royal Household announced that Alexia had left hospital and would continue her recuperation with her family.


Princess Alexia of the Netherlands has been discharged from hospital

Princess Alexia, second in line to the throne of the Netherlands, broke her right leg in the accident and today's statement said that she will have to use crutches for several weeks as her recovery continues. It said she left the hospital with her parents on Tuesday afternoon.




Alexia was on holiday in Lech with her parents, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, and her sisters, twelve year old Princess Amalia and eight year old Princess Ariane, when the accident happened. Willem-Alexander's mother, Princess Beatrix, was also on the holiday as was his brother, Prince Constantijn, his wife, Princess Laurentien and their three children.
