A future queen marks her country's National Day

One day she will lead National Day celebrations and today Princess Estelle got the festivities started by starring in a barand new photo released by the Royal Family to mark the occasion. And she looks every bit the monarch in waiting.

It's perhaps the most grown up we've seen Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary of Sweden look. Now aged three, she is wearing her country's national costume and standing in the gardens of her home at the Haga Palace. There are flowers, there is a hint of perfect summer sunshine dappling the grass behind her and there is Estelle looking commandingly at the camera.  Last year we sawe Estelle in her national costume picking flowers. In 2015, she is suddenly gone from toddler to little girl.

This is the third official photo of Estelle for her country's National Day and there will be many more to come as she grows up into future queen, heiress to the throne and one day monarch.

Today's photograph is also the perfect curtain raiser for what will be a spectacular summer for Sweden's royals. Next week Estelle will no doubt take a starring role in the wedding of her uncle, Carl Philip, and Sofia Hellqvist and very soon she will get another cousin as Princess Madeleine is due to deliver her second child any day now. Estelle is the eldest of a new generation and this latest photograph is one of a princess growing up into a royal future forever linked with that of the country whose National Day she is celebrating.
