Images of the meeting were shared on the official Dutch Royal Family Facebook page.

Familiar faces
The Infanta Elena isn't seen on public engagements that often any more - since the accession of her brother as Felipe VI she is no longer part of the official royal line up. But in the week she attended a bullfight and images of her arrival were shared on the Casa Real Twitter feed.

The Queen's cousin, Princess Alexandra, has spent decades carrying out royal engagements but she rarely makes it to the papers these days. However, she was one of the stars of the show at a garden party to mark the centenary of the Women's Institute held at Buckingham Palace in the week and an image of her, and quite possibly the royal hat of the year, was shared on the official British Monarchy Twitter account.

Behind the scenes
Royal social media isn't all about pictures of kings, queens, princes and princesses. There are often quite a few behind the scenes images shared to give an idea of what goes into making the big royal stories that dominate the news. In the week, the official Kensington Royal Twitter account posted an image of the KCVO insignia presented by the Queen to Prince Harry as she made him a Knight of the Royal Victorian Order as a thank you for his work for her and the House of Windsor.

The Crown Prince and Princess of Norway joined Victoria of Sweden at a food summit in Stockholm in the week and as lunchtime approached they shared a picture of one of the meals being discussed on their official Twitter account - it's a bit wriggly.
