All kids love a picnic and Prince Jacques of Monaco got one with very royal associations on September 10th as he accompanied his mum and dad to one of Monaco's special events. The heir to the throne went to the annual picnic held for the people of Monaco and this sovereign in waiting looked as if he already has this duty sorted and in the bag.

Jacques walked through the huge event holding hands with his parents. Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, while his aunt, Princess Caroline also attended.

The picnic is held every year for the people of Monaco, with thousands attending this summer's event at the Princess Antoinette Park. The little prince even tried a tentative wave during his appearance.

Jacques, in his country's colours of red and white, was given a tour of the park by his parents and was fussed over by some of those at the event.

Last year, Jacques attended the event with big sister, Princess Gabriella, but the Countess of Cardales was missing from this year's family day out.

Jacques, who showed off his walking skills at his first birthday party, looked very confident on his feet and very calm amidst all the attention heaped on him while his parents, understandably, looked very proud.

And then they headed home with another royal tradition well and truly established in the life of Jacques, Hereditary Prince of Monaco, So far, life as an heir to the throne has been a picnic for him.
