Back to school for Leonor and Sofia

Leonor and Sofia of Spain, seen here with their parents, have left the summer behind them
(TVE still)

All summer holidays must come to an end. Today, it was the turn of the heir to the Spanish throne and her sister to put the fun of sun and sand behind them and let autumn return.  Leonor and Sofia have gone back to school.

The Princess of Asturias, now ten, and the Infanta Sofia, eight, were driven to school on their first day of the new term by their father, King Felipe VI, with their mother, Queen Letizia, in the passenger seat.

All four smiled and waved for the cameras as Felipe guided them into the school for the start of a new academic year. The family had last been seen together in Mallorca where they spent the early part of August at the Marivent Palace.

And then it was back to class for the first and second in line to the throne of Spain. Summer is fading fast.
