The last part of Queen Maxima's visit to Indonesia in her role as a special UN envoy on inclusive finance took her to the heart of the issue she has devoted so much of her time to. Maxima visited several projects where people have benefitted from inclusive finance as well as meeting banks and politicians to talk about ongoing issues. Maxima is back in business.

Maxima spent a morning on Bogor hearing about from shop owners and business people about the benefits of making managing money easier. She toured small enterprises to talk to those that run them about financial inclusion. Earlier in her visit, Maxima had said that part of her goal was financial empowerment and this was a chance to find out what has worked so far and what needs to be done in the future.

The last part of the trip included a press briefing where she discussed the importance of literacy, learning about credit and savings and the links between helping the poor and economic growth.

The Queen of the Netherlands also visited the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, for an audience which included more talks.

Maxima is now back in the Netherlands where she has a busy agenda lined up for the coming autumn months. This trip has shown how important her UN role is and how she works to ensure it prominence in her ever filling diary.
