Mary gets back to nature

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark

From natural food to natural history, the Crown Princess has kept things, well, natural as April comes to an end. Mary's latest appearances have taken in science, history and loneliness but they were all about people taking control of their lives.

Mary headed to the Natural History Museum to officially open the Festival of Research - she is its patron. It's an annual event and Mary has attended before - last year she chose bright pink for her appearance but 2016 was all about understated white with that snakeskin belt that she loves so much. It celebrates knowledge and is all about people sharing what they know to learn more.

Sharing was a big feature of the other of Mary's engagements so far this week. The Crown Princess headed to the Norrebro Hall in Copenhagen for a spot of lunch with a serious message.

The meal in question was part of the People's Movement Against Loneliness, an initiative aimed at getting people to sit down together, share a meal and make new friends. It's got the support of the Mary Foundation which has been working for several years now to end loneliness.

Two different projects with a common theme going through them - bringing people together to learn and move on. After all, belonging is the most natural thing of all.
