The Royal Wardrobe, Royal Visit India - Day Three

It was day three so three new outfits seems fair. Kate started long, went midi for the middle and then back to floor length as the day came to an end. And there was colour, there were prints and there was a stand out look that is easily among her best ever. Here's the Royal Wardrobe for Day three of the India tour.

For a meeting with the Prime Minister of India, Kate chose this green Temperley dress which is just about as good as royal dressing gets. There is nothing not to love about this whole look. The Duchess shoots, she scores and she's walking away with the trophy right now. Fabulous.

The colour is spot on and the style is something else. It's a delicate lace like effect material through most of the dress with panels of plain colour material in the pleated, flicking skirt. It's called the Desdemona and it's enough to make anyone green with envy.

We got nude heels (LK Bennett) and a matching bag as well as an updo which we need more often and which rounded this look off to absolute perfection. It's up there already as outfit of the tour and we've not seen half of it yet.

The day had begun in a completely different part of the city as William and Kate visited an organisation which helps street children and young people who arrive in the city with no home and no support. For this engagement, Kate wore a print dress by UK company, Glamourous.  She added a belt to it and wore shoes that are about as unusual as we have seen on her. They were nude, of course, suede and flat. Apart from not seeing Kate in flats that often on work days, the cross over effect on these was a style departure for her.

The whole look was very appropriate for the engagements she was on and while we'll probably never see it again, it was a smart addition to this royal wardrobe.

And it was back to long as night fell on day three as she chose a dress by Anna Sui which contains more colours and prints than the duchess usually wears in a month.

This isn't the best of Kate's looks so far on this tour - so long it almost swamps her and verging on the baggy. But it's still pretty and seeing Kate try so many different looks for her is a bonus.

Day three brings us up to eight new outfits so far this tour and it's time to start picking favourites - please share if you have a personal pick so far. And you can see everything worn by the Duchess of Cambridge so far on the special page about William and Kate in India here.
